Psilocybe Cyanescens Wavy Cap Mushroom, the official “flying saucer” woodlover mushroom. Any wood loving mushroom require wood chips to grow, Psilocybe Cyanescen are commonly found in irrigate landscaping on the west coast of the United States (This variety has been seen all the way south in the San Diego Zoo). Not to be confused with the Pan Cyan aka blue meanies which do not grow on wood chip.
It is theorized that with the higher carbon to nitrogen ratio (C:N) present in wood allows this mushroom to concentrate higher active alkaloid content. The fruiting conditions require a lower temperature around 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Wood lovers paralysis is a common issue when people eat large doses of this variety. Oregon has a new magic mushroom law prohibiting the use of Azurescens and Cyanescens because of wood lover paralysis. This limits most legal facilities operating in Oregon to only use Psilocybe Cubensis.
