The Psilocybe Ovoideocystidiata Mushroom is a classic outdoor Psilocybe mushroom that was originally found in the Ohio river basin. It prefers humid and muddy or sandy soil. it can be identified by its rhombus shaped spores, larger stature, earlier fruiting season and membranous annulus.
The seasonality of Psilocybe Ovoideocystidiata varies significantly depending on their geographical location. In the northeastern US, these mushrooms are most commonly observed during spring, from mid-April to late-June, with a peak in late-May. This pattern is particularly noticeable after prolonged heavy rainfall, which is a common weather occurrence in the eastern US during spring. While their fruiting may occasionally extend to November, they are highly sensitive to seasonal changes and primarily fruit during spring, with minimal occurrences during other times of the year, even under favorable weather conditions.
